On Saturday, the
Ray Brothers Construction Atom AE Jr. Bulls were shut out 4-0 by the Generals
in Oshawa. Jackson Bonn played a solid
game, stopping 34 of 38 shots in net.
On Sunday, the Pickering Panthers beat the Jr. Bulls
8-1. Eric Silvestri scored for
Belleville, with helpers from Tyler Buckley and Dominic Joyce. Ben Orr-McCausland was very busy in net,
stopping 34 of 42 shots.
On Saturday, the Jr. Bulls travelled to Whitby to play
the Wildcats, and came away on the losing side of a lopsided 13-1 score. Whitby was simply too much for the Bulls,
outshooting Belleville 63-8. Zack
Goodfellow scored Belleville's lone marker, from Dylan Patterson. Jackson Bonn stopped 50 shots between the
pipes.
On Sunday, the Jr. Bulls were on the road again, this
time west and north to Port Perry, where they managed their first point of the
season with a 2-2 tie. They played with
some nice intensity, which paid off. Owen Hayes scored, from Blake Bush, and Bush potted the other goal, from
Dominic Joyce. Ben Orr was very solid in
net, stopping 19 of 21 shots.
The Jr. Bulls play a home-and-home with Kingston on
Thanksgiving weekend.
September 24-24
The Ray Brothers Construction Atom AE Jr. Bulls had a
rough weekend, losing weekend tilts against Pickering and Ajax. On Saturday, the Jr. Bulls travelled to
Pickering where the Panthers emerged with a 7-2 win. Belleville's goals came from Zach Goodfellow,
unassisted, and Tyler Buckley, assisted by Ethan Andrews and Dylan
Patterson. Ben Orr-McCausland had a busy
day in net, facing 53 shots.
On Sunday, the Ajax Knights visited the Wally Dever and
thumped the Bulls 12-2. Dylan Patterson
scored Belleville's first goal, with assists from Dominic Joyce and Tyler
Buckley. Austin Boyd rouded out
Belleville's scoring, going top shelf from Eric Silvestri and Sam
Hartling. Jackson Bonn faced 52 shots
between the pipes.
The Jr. Bulls play a rematch with the Knights on Tuesday
evening in Ajax, before a pair of away games next weekend.
The Ray Brothers Atom AE Jr. Bulls opened their
regular season at home against the always tough Oshawa Generals. The Jr. Bulls held their own through the
first period. Despite being outshot
10-0, they were tied going into the second. In the middle frame, the Jr. Bulls came to life with 8 shots, incuding a
goal from Zach Mortimore, with assists from Zach Goodfellow and Ethan
Andrews. Oshawa managed 10 shots again
and clicked three times. The Bulls could
not hold off the Generals in the third though, and Oshawa notched four in the
final frame, for a 6-1 final score, outshooting the Jr. Bulls 31-13. Jackson Bonn took the loss in net for
Belleville. The boys travel to Pickering
on Saturday and return to the Wally Dever on Sunday at 5:45 to face Ajax.
